01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Located within the Ootemori commercial zone on basement level 2 of The Otemachi Tower, CAFE & BAR TAMEALS OTEMACHI provides an easy-going setting for Western-style dining and drinks along the station concourse. A standout on the dinner menu is the grilled eisbein, cured for 5 days in a blend of herbs and spices before being roasted until savoury and fragrant. The condensed richness of the pork and the aromatic spices make it well suited for sharing over drinks.
The bar keeps a broad drinks selection, pouring beers such as Pilsner Urquell alongside Sorachi, known for its herbal, hinoki- and lemongrass-like aroma. Guests can also choose highballs made from Japanese and international whiskies, Sakurao gin and tonics, or salted lemon sours for a quick drink after work. A range of tapas pairs naturally with the drinks, from bone-in fried chicken crusted in fragrant spices to garlic-paprika shrimp ajillo.
From Pasta Lunches to Evening Coffee
During the day, the kitchen serves substantial lunch plates, including slow-braised pork cheek ragu pasta, Tokachi herb beef bolognese, and beef brisket curry simmered with beer. By evening, the space doubles as an evening cafe, where diners can drop in for coffee, lattes, or caneles rather than alcoholic drinks. The till operates completely cashless, accepting major credit cards, transit IC cards, and QR code payments for quick visits between transit connections.
